I very much enjoyed the book. It drew me in and held my interest. The only thing that I had trouble with was following the equestrian competitions and terminology. However it did open up a whole new world to me that I would have otherwise been uninterested in. It also made me more aware of how a person with disabilities views every day comings and goings. I highly recommend this book.
The novel Uglier by Bonnie Palis was well written. There were times when I couldn’t put it down. The author gives a first hand insight and understanding Of Manic Depression. Through the main caracter Bernie, she shows the strenght that was put forth to try to conquer this disorder. It showed the struggle when she mentions that it was like trying to swim through a pool of pudding.
An interesting journey into the lives of the characters as they live and interact with the main character who suffers from mental illness. As the character who suffers from bi-polar disorder goes through life, you can feel the emotions and the struggles she faces. I loved the chapter when you hear the point of view of her husband – it made the book.
